A Promise to the Future of Tango
La Promesa , the promise, is a festival that celebrates the tango artists, professionals, and dancers who are part of the next wave of the dance, coming together to share, explore, and shape what tango is becoming.
Presented by Calle del Tango, this Toronto-based festival brings together emerging artists whose work is already gaining recognition across the global tango community, from Buenos Aires to Istanbul to Seoul and beyond. These are dancers and musicians developing their own voice, and inviting others into that process.
Set within Toronto’s vibrant and multicultural landscape, La Promesa offers an intimate, high-quality experience with workshops, performances, and milongas designed to foster connection, curiosity, and growth. It is a place to learn, to exchange, and to experience tango in motion.

La Promesa is brought to you by Calle Del Tango, a Toronto-based non-profit bringing the art and culture of Argentine tango to life through social dance, cultural events, and welcoming weekly programming. What began as a small initiative among friends has grown into a community-driven organization creating spaces where dancers connect, learn, and celebrate tango together.
La Promesa carries that same spirit forward and opens it up to a much bigger stage. The festival brings together rising artists and emerging voices who are helping shape where tango is headed, alongside a community eager to be part of that journey. It is our promise to the dance and to the people moving it forward.
